Saturday, July 1st, 2000 -- The Approach...
.
The approach to our camp involved driving to the Schriver's Meadow trailhead located at approximately 3200 feet on the south side of Mt. Baker.  From there, a four hour trek and an approximate 3000 gain in elevation brought us to the foot of the Easton Glacier and the site of what would be home for the next 2 days.

The weather was pretty wild that day.  It started as partly cloudy with some sun, a perfect day for hiking.  In the early afternoon we were hit with an onslought of cold rain.  The late afternoon and early evening cleared up somewhat ending the day the way it started:  partly cloudy.
