Updates for 2011.
I have just begun applying the updates that I have received since last summer. I will try to get everything up to date by the first half of May. [Apr 19/2011]

Lost updates.
I just came to the unpleasant realization that my ISP's spam filters have been taking out the results of my reply and update forms. I have no idea when this started. I have recovered four updates from the past week, but any that are older than that have been purged. If you have sent an update this summer and haven't seen a reply from me, please resubmit it. Meager Creek Landslide.
Meager Creek Hotspring has once again been cutoff by a massive landslide. It is likely to be a long time before it reopens. [Aug 7/2010]

A new look for COBC.
If you are a frequent visitor it will be obvious that COBC is in the process of undergoing a redesign. The last big redesign of COBC was probably 15 years ago. A lot has changed since then. For one thing, my web development software is more powerful now, but the old design didn't utilize that power.
There are still a few more things to do to complete the transition, but hopefully these won't be apparent. The site may still be a bit unstable. I apologize if this causes any inconvenience.

Once I finish transitioning in the new layout, here are some of the other changes that I am planning:
- clean up: some of the new changes have left some minor glitches. My first priority is to get rid of those problems.
- menu changes: the menus will be more "active", like drop-down menus.
- split up regions into smaller regions: many of the pages have become too large, so they will be split into smaller pieces.
- quick links: I will be adding quick links to get to popular places like Wreck Beach and Prior Lake.
- RSS feed.

News...

Suntanning PREVENTS cancer.

Despite AANR's attempts to downplay sun exposure by abandoning their previous name (The American Sunbathing Association), sunbathing has remained a central part of nudism and the primary incentive for many of us to become nudists. The cosmetics industry has sponsored a highly successful media campaign to make everyone fear the sun, despite the possibility that the use of sunscreens may actually contribute to skin cancer by taking away the danger signal...sunburn. (Especially when the sunscreen is not "broad-spectrum".)
Now, a comprehensive study is raising an alarm that sun avoidance may actually CAUSE cancer and other diseases! The reasearchers recommend that people should expose their naked skin to 10-15 minutes of high intensity sun every day and take vitamin D supplements during the winter.
