Pacific Coast Mexico.
LORETO, BAJA: Diamond
Eden Resort --- Closed.
Although still listed on other sites, I've seen reports that this resort has
been torn down. [Jan
2010]
MANZANILLO: Punta Serena Villas and Spa. (GPS: N19 18.438 W104 49.873)
Adults only. Clothing is optional at the pool and beach. Located next door
to BlueBay Los Angeles Locos (and owned by the same company), about 150 km
south of Puerto Vallarta, near Manzanillo. Km 20 Carretera Federal 200,
Tenacatita, Jalisco, Mexico. [July
2010]
GUADALAJARA: Rio
Caliente Hot Springs Spa Resort.
Rio Caliente has segregated clothing-optional areas, but they are probably quite
small. According to their website: "two enclosed plunge pools, one for men and
one for women, for those who prefer nude sunbathing and swimming." [July
2010]
IXTAPA: Ixtapa Island.
"There is a nude beach on Ixtapa Island which is sanctioned by the government.
The beach is about 100 yards long, fine tropical sand at one end, rocks at
the other, with a wading pool beach entry and coral right after that. We were
served by the local restaurant and enjoyed the place. It was safe and fun." [Gabef, July
2007]
OAXACA: Playa
Zipolite. (GPS: N15
39.767 W96 30.567)
At the southern end of Mexico's Pacific coast, Zipolite beach became popular
with Hippies in the 1960's and continues to attract people drawn to the Hippie
lifestyle and cheap accomodations. According to Wikipedia: "The
beach’s
appeal stems from being one of very few beaches in which nudity is tolerated,
however it is mostly practiced on the sheltered far east Playa del Amor and the
far west end. It is one of the more crowded beaches in Oaxaca state. Swimming
is practiced here but caution is strongly advised." [July 2007]
Atlantic Coast Mexico.
CANCUN: Playa Naturel --- Closed (2005?).
CANCUN: Caribbean Beach Club --- Closed.
PLAYA DEL CARMEN: Hidden
Beach Resort Au Naturel Club. (GPS: N20
27.234 W87 16.341)
Clothing-optional. Adults only. Singles welcome. Swim-up suites
available. Located just one hour south of Cancun
Airport (26km south of Playa del Carmen), next
to Eldorado
Seaside Suites on a "stretch
of white sand beach offering spectacular vistas of the Mexican Caribbean Sea." [July
2010]
TULUM: Cabanas
Copal. (GPS: N20
10.735 W87 26.703)
Clothing-optional cabanas, 3km from the Tulum ruins on the southern
end of the Mayan Riviera. The facility is described as "family-friendly" but
does not provide activities for children. Although the property is beach-front,
it is not a clothing-optional beach. (Other beaches in Tulum are clothing-optional.) [July
2010]
TULUM: Azulik. (GPS: N20
10.782 W87 26.687)
Adult-only resort, 3km from the Tulum ruins on the
southern end of the Mayan Riviera. Azulik is next door to Copal and owned by
the same company. Although the property is beach-front, it is not a clothing-optional
beach. (Other beaches in Tulum are clothing-optional.) I couldn't find anything
on the Azulik website that identified it as clothing-optional, but it is described
as such on other websites by the same company (e.g., Maya Spa). [July
2010]
TULUM: Villa Dolce Vita.
A clothing-optional, beach-front B&B near Tulum on the southern end of the Mayan
Riviera. [July 2010]
XCALAK: Playa
Sonrisa. (GPS: N18 16.378 W87 50.265)
A clothing-optional, beach-front resort far to the south of the Mayan
Riviera. (In fact, if it were any further south, it would be in Belize.) Playa
Sonrisa caters mostly to nudist couples, though older children are welcome (conditionally).
Day visits are allowed for registered naturist couples. [July
2010]
