Atlantic Provinces.

This section lists some spots in the rest of Canada which might be of interest to visitors from BC and other locations.

This is not intended to be a complete listing for Central and Eastern Canada. Though it does contain all the information I have. I welcome submissions for these regions, but advise readers that many more locations are available. Please follow the links to FCN and other sites that provide more complete listings.

ATLANTIC PROVINCES: FCN guide to Clubs and Beaches.

NOVA SCOTIA: Crystal Crescent Beach.
The third beach at Crystal Crescent, in the Sambro-area outside Halifax, has been used by nudists for decades and in recent years has become almost legal.
In 2001, there was an attack on this beach by local police, but in October of 2001, Nova Scotia's top prosecutor decided not to proceed with charges indicating that nudity at an isolated beach is a criminal act only when it involves "blatant or wilful disregard for the statutes, or aggressive exhibitionism, lewd conduct or indecent acts." [Last info, March 2002]
Update: The Halifax Herald reported 23 nude sunbathers on Monday, July 28, 3003. They indicated that neither the police nor users of the adjacent beaches were concerned about the nudity on the third beach at Crystal Crescent. "The RCMP announced last year that they would not arrest people who sunbathe nude at Crystal Crescent Beach's third beach. ... Tantallon RCMP announced last year they would no longer arrest people for going nude on the beach. 'It's a somewhat grey area, open for interpretation,' said Staff Sgt. Peter McTiernan, the officer in charge of the RCMP's Tantallon office. 'Last year, we laid some charges and the Crown decided that they would not pursue them. That pretty much ended it right there.' While nude sunbathing is allowed, Staff Sgt. McTiernan said the RCMP would still investigate any complaints of lewd behaviour. But he said that to his knowledge, the RCMP have not been called out to the beach for such a complaint this year." [The Halifax Herald, July 29, 2003]
