The rosary has NO borders ...

it is universal ...

it is a way to unite our personal prayer to the official prayer of the Church ...

... it is an harmonious ensemble of ROSES offered as a dialogue with the MOTHER OF GOD so that she will intercede with her Son for whatever will be presented as a REQUEST to be obtained from the Almighty God.

The common (ie: 15 decades) form of today's format is called the "dominican rosary". Each decade consists of ten Ave Marias preceded by one Paternoster and followed by one Gloria Patri; each of the decades is related to a mystery or event in the life of Christ or of the Virgin Mary that is contemplated during it's recitation.

The TRADITIONAL version was given by St Pius V, during the Council of Trent.

Saint Dominic is the founder of the DOMINICAN order, He was born in the province of Burgos (Spain) 1170 (approx.), and died in the city of Bologna (Italy) in 1221. The "order" was first subordinated to the Augustinian Rule before obtaining it's own Constitutions in 1216 and 1220 from Rome.

 N.B.

Still today (ie: Y2K) in the city of Bologna ... the St Dominic's BASILICA (where the body of St Dominic is revered) is dedicated to the Virgin Lady of the ROSARY.

The fifteen (15) images related to the 15 mysteries are (here) reproduced from the original paintings done by five (5) artists ... in 1602 (approx).
