The Ascent of the Calvary

I will put enmities between thee (the serpent) and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.

Genesis III, 15

"Sem, father of numerous tribes, eldest son and heir of Noe's civil and priestly power, was stripped of all authority in this revolt  —of the Tower of Babel and the confusion in languages. Left alone in his old age, his children gone, an angel told him to come and he would show him where to bury Adam's skull —which he had got from his father Noe 350 years after the Flood— whereupon Noe told him the tradition ...

... For full many a day they went West till they came to a little hill, whereon he entombed our first father's relic, and called it Golgotha, a Babylonian word meaning: "The Place of The Skull".

Greeks later rendered it Cranium, and Romans CALVARIA —Calvary. There the angel told him to guard the relic of the first man.

How Christ said The first Mass.                    Ftr. Meagher

Because the executions could NOT be allowed within the walls of the City of The Temple, and had to be made public, facing the people ... the Calvary is chosen so that the hill can afford the view that will accommodate the public.

In today's Jerusalem, the smaller hill has been —first "eroded" by Adrian in the second century, and then again, by St Helen, the Crusaders and finally by the Greeks that "shipped rock excavations" and lost them to the seas. The lower leveled hill, now caped by marble, mosaic, silver and gold was at the intersection of five roads at the time of the Crucifixion. The best location for the first Sacrifice of the Redeemer. The strong High Noon Sun provided a sinister spotlight for the bare rock hill.

If you can destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days ... save Thyself !

And the dragon was angry against the woman: and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Apocalypse (St John) 12, 17

REDEMPTION

The factor of Universal Unity must make "it" understandable that Good-Friday is "at least" as important a "DAY" as Christmas and Easter, within the liturgical year. In the Y2K era, our intellect is weaken with anticipation, thus leading the distracted "world" more into the "Alleluias" of Easter than with the 40 days of penance accompanying the Crucifixion of OLJC. The same is true of Christmas Day being swept by the mythical Santa Claus (ie: the shadow of "shopping paganism") versus the FRUIT of poverty that is the true joy of the NATIVITY.

On Good-Friday, the priest does NOT say the Mass. The Holy Sacrifice is "replaced" by the WAY of the CROSS consumed at 15:00 hrs by OLJC. All of human activities should STOP and pause ... reflecting upon the crucifix with which the CORPUS CHRISTI "seals" the New and Eternal Testament.

Thus the fulfilling of the Old Testament !

The timeline between Moses upon Mt Sinai and OLJC crucified is approximately 3,600 years ... yet the spiritual distance for the Mercy of God to fulfill the Letter of the Law is INFINITE.

The Transfiguration on Mount Thabor

The Transfiguration of Christ is the culminating point of His public life, as His Baptism is its starting point, and His Ascension its end ... This dazzling brightness which emanated from His whole Body was produced by an interior shining of His Divinity.

False Judaism had rejected the Messias, and now true Judaism, represented by Moses  and Elias for the Law and the Prophets, recognized and adored Him, while for the second time God the Father proclaimed Him His only-begotten and well-loved Son.

1  AND after six days Jesus taketh unto him Peter and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart:

2 And he was transfigured before them. And his face did shine as the sun: and his garments became white as snow.

3 And behold there appeared to them Moses and Elias talking with him.

5 And as he was yet speaking, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them. And lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him.

8 And they lifting up their eyes saw no one but only Jesus.

Matt. Ch. 17

Father I have understood very well,

You need shadowing

So that light will laugh better

and you need darkness

So that the day that will follow this dismal failure

Will be that much more amazed

From having been so far!

Marie Noël 1883-1967

Being "chosen" Versus being "elected".

It could be said that the disciples had received "their diplomas" (after three (3) years of college) on Holy Thursday at the Last Supper. Yet the final "test" was to HAPPEN ... on Good-Friday upon the Calvary. They knew the result of Moses's meeting upon Mount Sinai, also the effect of "ascending Mount Carmel" by Elias ... as for Mount Thabor, Jesus said: "Tell the vision to no man, till the Son of man be risen from the dead". Thus only Peter, James and John were aware ... of the purity of the Divinity within OLJC, and only one (John) was a witness (ie: a confessor) at the foot of the Crucifix with the Blessed Mother ... the others ... "gone fishing" ?

The last "TEACHING" of OLJC came with the way of the Cross, on Good-Friday, this is where Saint-Dismas became the FIRST human living being to "experience the election" ... without attending "college" ... it cannot be possible that both the persons of the Father and that of the Son have made the "same" mistake in CHOOSING His people, once as "collectivities" and the other as "individual disciples", or for that matter to be "chosen" within the "college ... of cardinals"; it is very possible however that the "fact" of being "chosen" ... inevitably leads to the ELECTION ... in the minds of the subjects chosen.  OLJC makes "it" sure that the election means contribution in carrying the loads of sins (ie: at the very least, part of ... our own sins) versus the constant retributions— too often insistently voiced by "HIS" people ... (ie: the collective one, and/or the individual person).

Prayer

August Queen of Heavens, sovereign of angels, who hast from the beginning been designated by God with the power and the mission to crush the head of the serpent, we humbly beg thee, to send thy Holy and most powerful Legions to pursue and exterminate the evil forces from everywhere, to contain their audacity and to repel them into the bottomless pit of hell.

Who is closest to God ? Who is like God?

Good and tender Mother, thou will always be our Love and our Hope.

Holy Mother of God, send the Holy Angels to protect us and to drive back the cruel enemy.

Holy Angels, Archangels and Saints defend us and shield us from the onslaught.

Amen

Like the Father who had "chosen" twelve (12) tribes as His people, the Son selected twelve (12) disciples for The "mystical body"... the icon (here above) shows us the "final cause of Good-Friday" —where after He had given-up His life to liberate the sinner, the Crucifix fulfils the Cross, providing the greatest sign of Victory over evil forces. The demonstration of the Power of Mercy.

... Saint Dismas was ELECTED by recognizing (thus "confessing") Christ as King of kings ...

The Blessed Mother and John are finding themselves "alone" as living example of the justs. Saint Dismas leads the way to the election (ie: first canonization) confirmed by OLJC Himself) BEFORE the previously chosen disciples, ALL having (at that time) "NOT truly understood" the penetration of the previous three years of teaching by OLJC.

Finally, ten (10) of them would later graciously offer themselves up as (not only) Confessors ... but for the majority: MARTYRS of the Church.

The mystical body, then and now, appear to be of the same fragility on Good-Friday.  The interplay of dark and light opinions amongst the disciples are displaying the confusion and the lack of will of a "military retreat". There must be a final realization that Mercy cannot be the same as false ecumenism and/or Irenism ... Re:  HUMANI GENERIS paragraghs 11, 12, 43 ...

Prayer's history

On January 13, 1864 the Rev. Ftr Louis Cestac (Founder of the Order of the Servants of Mary) suddenly visualized the evil forces at work over the face of the earth ... and simultaneously viewed the Blessed Mother asking for the faithfuls to pray her, so she could mount a counter attack ...

... but, dear Mother could you NOT send thy Holy Legions without being prayed to ... ? No, said the Virgin Mary, for prayer is a "condition" raised by God to obtain graces— Well, said the priest, please teach me how we should ask for these graces ... and then came the prayer: "August Queen ..."
