Ah, yes.
The lovely undead. I have a huge amount of old D&D Ral Partha figs
dating back from 1985 that I decided to use for a new VC army. I figure
that I can make a small 1500 point army. Besides, painting all those humans
is kinda tiring. Not that painting warmaster O&G, terrain and lizardmen
don't take up enough time! But I digress. Here are some pics of my attempts
at painting the vile/kick ass undead.
Note: Thanks big time to Bill Hadikin. He knows why!
-The New army has begun! My fluff is lightly based, right now,
on a married couple of von Carstein vamps. They managed to terrorize the
Moot for some time (some of my rarely used halfling figs are going to become
zombies now) but were finally defeated by a mercenary band known as the
Company of Wolves.
They are currently licking their wounds after their defeat but a sibling
duo of necromancers has allied with them and now they plot their revenge.
The list
*so far is undefeated
vs dwarfs (5-0)
vs Empire (3-0)
vs Blood Dragons (1-0)
vs Nurgle chaos (2-0)
vs Skaven (3-0)
vs Orcs and Gobbos (2-1-0)
vs Lamian VC (1-0)
So far I have built:
2 units of skeletons, the Bloodskulls and the Fallen, to my satisfaction.
Initially Boris von Carstein was going to lead the Bloodskulls but Natasha
looks good in the unit (as seen below) so he may have to lead the Fallen
now. Yep. Boris leads the Fallen now.
1 zombie 'bog'. This unit will have new dead; a border patrol of soldiers
from Stirland, older dead; halflings of the Moot, and old dead; various
men but some in the colours of the Company of Wolves as they were the last
large army fought.
4 Bat swarms
The building process has been a blast. On the 'bench' is the 4 Fell
bats. One is finished I intend to do
some bending of the wings for some unit dynamics. I will need some serious
epoxy to cover up gaps and such.
Latest Pics of the von Carsteins Some of these pics are a little big......
