About International Day of Persons with Disabilities:
This
free public event is a celebration of the achievements of
persons with disabilities in sports, arts and culture. Last year
the event lncluded: a proclamation by the Mayor of Vancouver,
musical
and theatrical performances, presentations by Paralympic
athletes, demonstrations, visual art exhibitions, and more. Stay tuned for more info about our 2009
event! Our website will be updated soon with more details about
our exciting new event taking place on December 3rd, 2009.
This
event is being hosted in partnership between the office of Olympic
and Paralympic Operations under the ‘Host a City Happening’
Departmental Program, 2010 Legacies Now, disability-related and other
community organizations, and Vancouver City departments. The event
will provide an opportunity to entertain, educate, eliminate
