Contact Us: 604-469-5444 Email Martin Disability Management Services offers over 14 years experience providing quality, cost effective services to insurers, employers and government agencies. Our goal is to reduce the costly effects and impact of disability by providing the best quality disability management and ergonomics consulting services. We strive to ensure that the appropriate resources and programs are in place at the appropriate time. Martin Disability Management Services focuses on ability rather than disability, and encourages the management of illness or injury as early as possible. Disability Management Services Proactive disability management programs focus on plans that prevent time away from work due to illness or injury and can include: Ergonomic Assessment, Specialist and Assessment referral, Treatment Coordination, Modified or Transitional Duties as well as Return to Work Coordination. Early Intervention and Return to Work Coordination Martin Disability Management Services encourages the medical management of illness or injury as early as possible, to ensure appropriate support in rehabilitation and return to work. As early as 5-10 consecutive days of absence, or immediately after injury, an employee’s suitability for participation in an early intervention program can be assessed. In some situations, ensuring appropriate access to treatment programs or medical assessments is coordinated with the physician. In other situations, graduated or modified duties will be coordinated with the employee, employer, health care professional's, WCB case manager, and the union representatives. Ergonomic Assessments and Consulting Many work-related musculoskeletal problems are caused by poor working practices and can be prevented or at least reduced. Ergonomics aims to fit the work to the worker. Martin Disability Management Services offers comprehensive ergonomic assessments to identify and eliminate risk factors that may be causing, or may cause in the future, health problems resulting in reduced work performance or disability. Job Modifications and Accommodations For employees with repetitive strain symptoms, or recovering from illness or injury, ergonomic assessment will determine whether assistive devices, job site modifications, transitional duties or recommendations regarding the layout of the workstation, will remove barriers to work, permitting a quicker and safer return to work. “Well coordinated disability management and ergonomic programs can help keep employees healthy and productive at work — and, when disability or injury occurs — can return them to good health and work as quickly and as safely as possible.” |
