painted in ink and acrylic paint on heavy weight, acid free watercolor paper, size 18 x 24 inches (46 x 61cm).

This abstract nude is delicate and feminine and reminds me of the Hollywood stars of the 1940's. There is an interesting contrast in the painting between the elegance and fragility of the woman and the drama and force of the rough ink lines, strong contrasts and rich colors.
It is a very striking painting/drawing. The ink line brush drawing is spontaneous and raw and very expressive. The acrylic paint is bright and vibrant and gives the painting texture. There are many different shades and tones of reds, pinks, orange and yellow in the painting. The heavy weight paper shows through in many places providing additional texture and interest. This painting is on paper so you will have to have it framed under glass (it is sold without a frame). You can get quite a different 'look' with different frames - see some examples below.
