Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. This program of Samaritan’s Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ, God’s greatest gift. Along with shoe box gifts, millions of children are given Gospel booklets in their own language. In 2002, we collected over 6 million shoe boxes worldwide and distributed them to children in about 95 countries.

Your gift to the American Lung Association will help fight lung disease, the third leading cause of death in America. The mission of the American Lung Association is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. American Lung Associations around the country teach children to manage their asthma so they can live normal, healthy lives.
They fund research that enables scientists to better understand lung disease, which can lead to more effective treatments and cures. Nationwide they offer support groups for people with chronic lung disease, and immunization drives for people at high risk for influenza and pneumonia.

Canada's first Christmas Seal campaign was in 1927. Since then, the Canadian public has provided funds for sanatoria, TB prevention, community programs, and research into preventing and treating lung disease.
About 3,000 cases of tuberculosis still occur every year in Canada, and the occurrence of other diseases of the lungs such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis and asthma has increased enormously.
