
~Butter Tart Squares~ |
Base 1/2 cup (125ml) butter or margarine, at room temperature 1 cup (250ml) all-purpose flour 2 tbsp (25ml)granulated sugar Filling 1 1/2 cups (375ml) brown sugar 1 cup (250ml) chopped walnuts 1/2 cup (125ml) raisins 3 eggs 3 tbsp (45ml) all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp (2ml) baking powder 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla |
1.preheat oven to 350F(180C) Beat butter with flour and sugar until well blended.
Press firmly into an ungreased 9-inch (23-cm) square pan. Bake in preheated oven
for 15minutes. 2.Meanwhile, stir together all filling ingredients. Remove base from oven and gently spread filling ingredients over hot base. Return to oven and continue to bake for 20 to 25 minutes until filling is a deep golden brown. Filling may be slightly jiggly in the centre, but will firm upon cooling. 3. Cool completely and cut into squares or bars. |
