The Fires Of Coventry
Rich Shelley

For this horrible book, I had to go invent the black hole. I'm sorry, but "No Stars" wasn't bad enough to describe the absolute uselessness of this story. I lost track of time trying to find a point to it, thus causing me to almost miss the start of "The Truman Show". This book is just that bad.
I'm not even sorry to say that I didn't even read all of this book. You'd think that I would feel immoral reviewing a book I haven't totally read, but I don't care.
The "plot" of the story involves the "Federation" attacking the "Coalition" for reasons left unexplained. Instead of killing people, or taking the lightly defended planet prisoner, the "Federation" troops set fire to everything, also for no apparent reason.
On the cover, there is mention of a secret weapon that involves fire and/or a sun, but try as I might, that information eluded me. Perhaps this relates to the above pointless exercise?
Now, not being content with lacking reason, it turns out that all the pages are filled with the various stories of people fighting, and being alternately killed/triumphant. Sorry, but with no direction, this didn't hold my interest, especially when all of it just sorta ended, for (again), no apparent reason.
If anyone actually liked this book, perhaps you can mail me from the preceding page and explain to me what I missed. Anyone else, avoid this book like the plague. It's not even worth the effort of getting it free from the library.
