  • On financial support available (there’s quite a lot).
  • Space required to hold your event, and where.
  • Volunteer positions required.
  • Advertising brochures / posters – assistance in design.
  • Organizing your visitors into appropriate sized groups.
  • Veteran involvement.
  • Don’t forget to feed your volunteers.
  • Don’t forget your local War Brides.
  • A good MC is a must, at ease with children.
  • If possible, get vets and war brides together for a piano sing-song
    (music sheets and words are available).
  • School liaison visits (after you have their interest).
  • Convince several schools to support the event by presenting a play.
  • How to gain support from re-enactors.
  • Advertising and Sponsor Programs.
  • Organize a post event package for the schools and volunteers.
  • Not all schools allow filming or photographs - get permission.
  • Displays, good, bad and ugly – getting support.
  • Not just military served, don’t forget the RCMP.
  • Support from Veterans Affairs – there’s lots available.
  • Pre-visit and post visit packages are available – FREE OF CHARGE.
  • Having a theme – the importance of.
  • Don’t be afraid to show your emotions.
