This is the Chieftains first foray into childrens literature and it blended beautifully with narration of the story by Meryl Streep. It is a wonderful story to listen too for young and old alike. It is part of the series of recordings made by this company that pairs up well known actors and writers with leading artists in the music field. A video was also released of the story and is distributed by Columbia TriStar. The Chieftains were honored for their work on this album with a Grammy nomination in 1988.The Chieftains have also done music for Disney Records with two tracks appearing on Take my Hand: Songs from the 100 Acre Wood where they do a rousing rendition of Winnie the Pooh.
