The centerpiece of this album is the track Bonaparte's Retreat which chronicles the flight of the Wild Geese from Ireland and the lament of their leaving and how they became a strand in the history of Napoleon. This album also has several jigs and reels and an O'Carolan tune. The last track, Round the House and Mind the Dresser has dancers on the track and you can hear them dancing if you listen closely. This is also the first album to feature Kevin Conneff on bodhrán. The liner notes are written by Garech de Brún and Richard Ryan.

Produced by Paddy Moloney and recorded at Island Studios, London.
