Another Country, as the title implies, is a country-style ablum that has the Chieftains joining up with some of Nashville's best. This album is a nice blend of traditional Irish and country music. If You listen to the album and look an the instruments, you will see it is not very far to go from country to traditional Irish and Celtic music. If you like the country sound of Texas and the classic session sound of the Chieftains this is an album to check out. The companion video that was released in 1992 shows the making of the album and clips of the Chieftains performance with Ricky Skaggs on the program Nashville Now that once ran on the defunct cable channel, The Nashville Network. The video also includes a track that does not appear on the album, Squid Jigging Ground recorded with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. The Chieftains received a grammy for this album in 1993. The album also received grammy nominations in the categories of Best Pop Vocal Instrumental for Tahitian Skies; Best Country Vocal Collaboration for Killybegs; and Best Country Vocal Collaboration for Cotton-Eyed Joe.
