Diane Gillies, Decorative Artist

Diane Gillies was raised on the prairies of Alberta and later moved to Calgary.   Loving to paint and draw from a young age she won her first art award at the tender age of 7.  Largely self-taught, she retired from teaching and now has time to pursue her love of painting. 

The prairies form the subject of much of her artwork. She takes great pleasure in traveling and working with her husband Don, as he helps to bring her creative ideas to life.  When not painting, Diane enjoys spending time with her children, 11 grandchildren and 11 goldfish; who live in a pond in the garden.
