loads of information on how to obtain retirement certificates for release
with 10 years or more service in good standing. Even if you're already out,
no matter how long, it's never to late to apply. A special thank you to MWO
Ray Hill (ret'd) for providing & obtaining this information for my
retirement. It is my hope to keep the information here up to date for
cooks who no longer have the luxury of access to this information readily to
them. If anyone has additional info to add here, please don't hesitate
to pass it along to me and I'll be sure to post it.
Please note; if you are
still serving and are planning to retire in the near future, do not contact
the parties below directly. Simply ensure your immediate supervisor is
informed.

Logistics
Branch Retirement Certificate
The following information
is how to obtain Logistics Branch Retirement Certificates; members
with more than 25 years of service receive a silver lapel pin and engraved
silver tray. There also is a gold lapel pin for members with more
than 30 years of service. When you call, you must be able to give the
member's name (as you wish to see it on the certificate), enrolment date,
service number, rank and decorations received. For example: CWO Smith, OMM,
CD; his SN and date of enrolment. There is also a Log certificate for your
spouse as well. Include her/his 1st name, middle name or initials and last

Prime
Ministers Retirement Certificate & Letter
The following information
is how to obtain the Prime Ministers Retirement Certificate Criteria; - 15
Years of continuous, uninterrupted and commendable service. Application; -
Name, include first name and initials, rank; - When the retirement or date
of presentation is taking place; - number of completed years of service;

CDS
Retirement Certificate
The Chief of the Defence
Staff (CDS) retirement certificate are offered to departing members upon
request for release. This at done at the release section and is
normally part of your Part one interview. The certificates are not always
automatically provide, and so you may have to request it.
Criteria:
- 10 Years plus one day of completed and commendable service will
entitle you to a certificate, a pen and a record of service card (wallet
size). All this is called "the whole package".
Application:
- the application/certificate can be found in CFAO 15-2 annex D
(Application for Certificate of Service) - The application should be sent
in at least three weeks in advance to the office of; "SERVICE

You will also receive
the CF Pin on retirement as follows: 32 years -
Gold; 22 years - Silver; or 12 yrs Bronze. You must request it during you
release part 1 interview.

Retirement
Flags & Scrolls
The following information
is how to obtain the Parliment East/West Wing or Peace Tower Canadian flag
and scroll on retirement. Although the waiting list is long, you might
find it worth while. If you would like a flag that flies over the East or
West Wing, the wait is approx. one (1) year. For the flag that flies over
the Peace Tower, the wait is approx. four (4) years. Below is a sample
letter and fax to the contact for those who wish to pursue this!
