History of service / Bio

After leaving high
school in 1977, I enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces on 09 Aug
1977, spent a brief period on LWOP and reported the CFB Cornwallis
Recruit School 02 Sep 1977. Completed recruit trg in Nov
77 and moved to CFB Borden Pat Platoon till Jan 78 where I
started at CFSAL.
Completed basic TQ3 Cook
Crse in June 78 and deployed to Black down park to work the Summer
Reserve Concentration trg. In Sep 78 reported to CFB
North Bay, worked in all three kitchens including the SAGE Complex.
In 1979 was attached posted to 4 Wing Cold Lake to deploy to Sola
Norway with 434 Sqn on exercise. Again in 80 I deployed to
Andoya Norway with 434 Sqn.
In 1982 I was
promoted to MCpl and posted to CFB Rockcliff in Ottawa, and in 1985
was attached to CFS Alert for six months (no LTA at that time). From
85 to 88 I worked at the General Officer's Mess in Rockcliff.
In 1988 I was then posted to CFB Petawawa to 2RCHA, attached posted
to base. In 1989 I completed a tour of Cyprus with the
RCD from Petawawa, I was 2IC BBC Kitchen. In 1990 I was
promoted to Sgt work shift ran F15 kitchen and the hospital kitchen.
In 1992 I deployed with D Bty 2RCHA to Bodafoss Norway on
exercise. Then in 1993 I returned to Cyprus with 2RCHA to
close out and hand over the Canadian Section as we were done there.
While there I ran the Wosley Officer's Mess Kitchen.
After my second back
surgery in 1994, I was posted to 4 Wing Cold Lake Alberta, as the 2
IC of the Kitchen. I Completed a winter tour of the Golan in
98/99. Upon my return in 99 I was posted back to Petawawa to
1RCR where I was promoted to WO in Feb 2003.
In July of 2003 I was then
posted to CFB Shilo after fulfilling a 7 month stint as
the BFoods O, D/BFoods O, WO, Sgt all at the same time as we had two
MWO's retire back to back.
July 2005 I returned to Petawawa as KO of 3 RCR, after a short posting there I left and moved over to SPHL. Currently on a three accommodation posting as the OP Valley Connection WO, at Base Operations CFB Petawawa.
I would like to take this
opportunity to thank all the personnel both military and civilian
that I have had the greatest of pleasure to both work and serve
with.
