Volunteering With Us
Caroline Ambulance requires EMTs and EMRs who are registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics only registered practitioners can work in Alberta. Volunteers must be 20 years of age or older, and hold a valid Class 4 driver's license. Shifts at Caroline are 24 hours, running from 21:00 (9:00 p.m.) until 21:00 the day of the shift. For example, a Thursday shift starts at 21:00 Wednesday evening and runs until 21:00 Thursday evening. Shifts are typically staffed with 3-person crews, one of whom must be an EMT. Occasionally, we run 2-person crews on the discretion of the Operations Manager. Several times each year (special events and summer long weekends) we'll run two crews based on expected call volumes. We have two well-stocked type II ambulances at our base (the front half of our living quarters), located in the middle of town on Hwy 54. Call us at 403-722-3970 or stop in and say hello. Living accommodations at the base include:
Caroline has a grocery store, several convenience stores, and restaurants. The library has free high-speed internet access, and all are within easy walking distance from the base. Our rural mapping uses the Township/Range addressing. Laminated service area maps are on the base wall and in each ambulance. This website is operated and maintained on a volunteer basis.
