The Landscapes definitive series debuted with the large sized $1 and $2 values in early 1972. An oddity is that the attractive pair were initially produced by both the British American Bank Note Company (steel engraving) and Ashton-Potter Limited (lithographic portion). Later reprints of the $1 were printed solely by BAB. The five medium values were released towards the end of summer in the same year. Some of the initial printings of all values from plate 1 were produced with the migratory OP4 Ottawa tagging.
