WHAT IS IN CANADA DEATH PENALTY INDEX

PROVINCIAL INDEX: The data in this index is organized by province/territory/colony in chronological order. Persons executed in a jurisdiction that no longer exists will be listed under the present day province (example: New France-Lower Canada-Quebec). Persons who were executed in a territory that has since changed boundries will be listed in the province that now encompasses the location of execution (example: a hanging that took place in Regina in 1885 happened in the Northwest Territories however Regina is now in Saskatchewan).

ALPHABETICAL INDEX: If you are looking for a person and you don't know the place of execution use the alphabetical name index. Contains name, year, province/territory.

IN PROGRESS/WANTED: This lists sections of the index that are complete and sections that may be missing names. If you know of a name not in the index you may be interested in CONTRIBUTING.
