There are some eras during which all executions that took place are known, such as post-confederation. However, there are few official lists that cover periods prior to confederation. These have to be assembled name by name. This index lists which locations and eras are complete and which are still open to contributions. If you want to contribute information please go to CONTACT.

• ALBERTA
  All executions that took place in Alberta have been entered.
• BRITISH COLUMBIA
  All executions that took place in BC after July 20, 1871 have been entered. Looking for other names prior to this date. NOTE. We are in the process of adding a few new names prior to confederation.
• MANITOBA
  All executions that took place in Manitoba after January 1, 1870 have been entered. Looking for other names prior to 1870 under Hudson's Bay Co. jurisdiction.
• NEW BRUNSWICK
  All executions that took place in NB after July 1, 1867 have been entered. Looking for other names prior to this date. Executions prior to August 1784 would be under Nova Scotia jurisdiction.
• NEWFOUNDLAND
  The last execution took place on May 22, 1942. Looking for other names prior to this date. No executions have taken place since Newfoundland became a province of Canada. NOTE. We are in the process of adding new names.
• NORTHWEST TERRITORIES
  All executions that took place in NWT after January 1, 1870 have been entered. Looking for other names prior to 1870 under Hudson's Bay Co. jurisdiction.
• NOVA SCOTIA
  All executions that took place in Nova Scotia after July 1, 1867 have been entered. Looking for other names prior to July 1867. This includes New Brunswick when it was part of Nova Scotia prior to 1784 and Cape Breton prior to 1763 (when under French control) and 1784 to 1820 when it was a colony separate from Nova Scotia. NOTE. We are in the process of adding new info to names already listed and have several new names to enter.
• ONTARIO
  All executions that took place in Ontario after July 1, 1867 have been entered. Looking for other names prior to this date.
• PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
  All executions that took place in PEI have been entered.
• QUEBEC
  All executions that took place in Quebec after July 1, 1867 Looking for other names prior to that date. NOTE. We are in the process of adding a number of unknowns from Montreal between 1812 to 1840.
• SASKATCHEWAN
  All executions that took place in Saskatchewan have been entered.
• YUKON
  All executions that took place in Yukon have been entered.

To sum up, we believe we have listed all executions that took place in Alberta, Manitoba, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, and Yukon. The following provinces may never be complete due to possible pre-confederation unrecorded executions: British Columbia, Manitoba (as Hudson's Bay Co. territory), New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Northwest Territories (as Hudson's Bay Co. territory), Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec.
