The Calgary IRLP system operates through the interaction between various computers and Independent Radio Repeater Systems over high-speed internet connections.  It consists of many pieces of equipment which are expensive to acquire, maintain and replace. In addition there are ongoing costs incurred to keep the system active.

This network has been largely funded by a small group of Amateur Radio Operators in the Calgary Area for the benefit of the Amateur Radio Community at large.

Users are asked to respect the the equipment to protect the the valuable resources that make up the network.
