Local Calgary Area

Calgary Amateur Radio Association, CARA - The largest club of its kind in Calgary, promotes much of the public perception of the Amateur Radio hobby. CARA conducts training & education as well as many public service events.

Calgary Communications Club, CCC - Another club operating in the City of Calgary, its members are devoted to enjoyment of Amateur Radio.

The Phoenix Network, PHX - The Phoenix Network system mainly comprises the National Parks region west of Calgary and includes; Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, Lake Louise and Yoho. It operates Canada's highest repeater and highest linked Amateur Radio network as well.

Southern Alberta Repeater Association, SARA - One of the largest terrestrial linked voice networks can be found in Alberta and it is operated by SARA. Through the use of more conventional linking methods, the SARA system touches the farthest reaches of the province and beyond.

The Wild Rose Network, WRN - Though it is one of the smaller groups operating in Calgary, the Wild Rose Network boasts some of the best technical expertise in Amateur Radio. They operate a sophisticated linked network, and its members are responsible for the initial establishment of the APRS and IRLP systems in Alberta.
 

Alberta Provincial Organizations

Amateur Radio League of Alberta, ARLA - This is the voice of Amateur Radio on a provincial level, ARLA promotes the hobby and represents the interests of Alberta amateur radio operators (HAMs).

The Northern Alberta Radio Club, NARC - Representing areas in and around Edmonton, the provincial capital, in the northern regions of Alberta.

Tar Sands Amateur Radio Club, TARC - Found in the north eastern section of Alberta, TARC is an IRLP affiliated club which operates another linked node in the IRLP system.
 

National Organizations

Radio Amateurs of Canada,RAC - This is the National voice of Amateur Radio in Canada, representing the interests of all amateurs in every province and territory. RAC seeks to promote and protect the hobby.

American Radio Relay League, ARRL - The National voice of Amateur Radio in the United States.
