What does it mean to be a
Christian Volleyball Club? Christian principles can enter the
gymnasium and when they do, the differences are profound!
- Obligation: athletic ability is a gift from God
that he expects us to develop.
- To those who use well what they have been
given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance.
(Matthew 25:29)
- Competition: Pursue victory with intensity!
Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets
the prize. You also must run in such a way that you will win. (1
Corinthians 9:24)
- Influence: What impact or impression are you
and your team having on others?
You are the light of the world — like a city on a mountain,
glowing in the night for all to see. Don't hide your light under a
basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all. In
the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so
that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. (Matthew
5:14-16)
- Persistence: Hold on to a course of action in
spite of difficulties.
God blesses the people who patiently endure testing. Afterward
they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those
who love him. (James 1:12)
- Sportsmanship: behave fairly, honestly and
generously in sports competition.
People with integrity have firm footing, but those who follow
crooked paths will slip and fall.. (Proverbs 10:9)
- Success: If the axe is dull and it's edge
unsharpened, more strength is needed but skill will bring success.
(Ecclesiastes 10:10)
