The Cal-Air Volleyball Club is a competitive, Christian volleyball club established so athletes can continue to play and improve their volleyball skills after the school season has ended.  Our goal is to prepare athletes for college or university volleyball, teach them the importance of team over self, and provide a caring, respectful, Christian atmosphere

Athletes are not required to work bingos, and we do not practice on Sundays. Allowance is made for any parent/athlete not wishing to play on Sundays.

Athletes are not required to be self-described "Christians", but they must agree to conduct themselves according to our principles and code of conduct.  Prayer will often occur after our practices, before and after a tournament, and often our players will be seen praying on the court at the start of a match.

2008/2009 Estimated Fee Schedule

Fees are calculated after the team rosters have been finalized.  The fees are based on a break-even basis with no surplus.  If you have an athlete in the under 13, 14, 15, or 16 group, the federal budget includes a tax credit for $500 of the fees.

The following fees are estimated based on last season and 12 players per team.

Under 13 / 14: $800

Under 17: $1100

Payment is accepted in payments.  25% of the fees are required at the start of the season (once the player has been selected for a team), and the remainder may be paid in installments.  We ask that payments be made on Feb 1, Mar 1, and Apr 1.

In the context of being a Christian Volleyball Club, we will confidentially discuss and agree on a reduced fee for families who find it financially difficult to have their sons participate in club sports. Conversely if you are blessed with wealth, you are encouraged to confidentially discuss supporting a family having difficulty paying.

Fees include:

  - coaches honorariums

  - equipment and balls

  - all registration charges

  - tournament entry fees

  - gym rentals

  - lodging

  - weekly team physical training session

  - uniform jersey and shorts (to keep)

  - t-shirts

  - warm-up jackets

Please note:  transportation is not included in the fees.  If there are not enough parent drivers and a rental van is needed, there will be an additional charge to cover these costs.  Travel and lodging to Canadian Open tournaments are also not included in these fees.  The U15 and U16 teams are automatically entered into this tournament as it is held in Calgary.  If the U13, U14, U17 and U18 teams decide to enter these tournaments, additional fees will be charged for travel and lodging.

In the past, fund raisers have been organized to help offset the costs of these tournaments, but this is solely left up to the parents and players to organize.

Try-out fee.  There is a $25 try-out fee that will go towards your team fees if selected for the team.
