General Windows Technical Information
This set of pages contains some technical information about Windows that has been gleaned from experience, various posts on Microsoft news groups (msnews.microsoft.com) and various other sources. As with everything else on my web site (http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders), this is definitely a work in progress. Also, I don't count building web pages as one of my core competencies, so the layout etc. probably looks pretty primitive! If you want fancy graphics etc. you'll have to look elsewhere.
While I don't guarantee anything said on this site (no one is perfect after all), it originates from my own experience with Windows and other systems, newsgroup posts, other web sites, Microsoft documentation etc.
Some pages contain scripts, custom ADM template contents etc. I always verify that this stuff works, at least in very simple situations, but you should, as a matter of course, test it out for yourself before deploying it in a "production" situation. Every situation is different and only have a few systems I can test this stuff on. No guarantees or warrantees are expressed or implied about anything on this site.
Wherever possible, I've included references to relevant documents (mostly on one of the Microsoft web sites). However, the people that look after these web sites often move things around, so unfortunately, you may find broken links.
If you have observations or comments about anything you see on this site, please consider posting it in one of the relevant newsgroups as identified in the articles or listed below. If that doesn't elicit any response and you really want to get my attention, send an email to bsmisc at shaw.ca. It may take a while, but I'll eventually read it.
