This site is very much work in progress. It attempts to provide basic how things work details as well as step by step instructions for specific tasks and situations. It's divided into two general parts: Printing related - the various pages of this part have links in the navigation pane at the left. General Windows related - starts here - Bruce's General Windows Pages In the printing part, I'm attempting to gather together various bits and pieces of information relating to printing, particularly network printing, using the Windows operating system. When dealing with printing, particularly network printing, other aspects of the operating system can not be ignored. In particular, networking and security impact network printing. Please see www.MVPS.org for some possibly relevant web sites. Much of the information on this site has been the subject of many questions and answers on various Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server public Microsoft newsgroups on the msnews.microsoft.com news server. You can access these newsgroups using Outlook Express (see Outlook Express, Help, Content and Index, Contents, Viewing and Posting to Newsgroups). Generally, the printing subsystem in Windows 2003 Server, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 behaves the same as that on Windows XP, so information specific to Windows XP on this site also applies to the other Windows versions. I was a Microsoft MVP award recipient for Printing and Imaging from March, 2002 through October, 2007. For more information about the Microsoft MVP program, see http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx.
