DAVID USHER LOOKS INWARD Author: Trent McMartin Former Moist singer David Usher is back with his fourth solo album entitled If God Had Curves. Crediting the isolation he felt when writing the new songs, Usher wrote most of the material with a just guitar, pen, and paper. Moving to New York City last year, Usher recorded the album in New York and Toronto. The album is an acoustic folk rock record that some compare to Radiohead’s softer material. It’s got an introspective feel to it, covering such topics as change and the struggles of modern day life. Living in the U.S. didn’t stop Usher from asking some Canadian artists to lend a hand. Tegan Quin from Tegan and Sarah sings and plays on the song Hey Kids while Canadian legend Bruce Cockburn plays guitar on Long Goodbye. Usher kicked off his tour this week playing in Toronto, Montreal, and tomorrow he plays Ottawa. David Usher tour dates: April 26, 27, Toronto, ON - Mod Club << Previous Article   Articles Main   Next Article >> |
