ADDMAN REVIEW Author and Source: AddMan March (2007) is going to be a big month for music fans. New albums coming out left, right, and center. In preparation for the new David Usher album, Strange Birds, I’ve decided to review David’s earlier solo works... 2003 brought us Hallucinations, David’s 3rd solo album. This album manages to do something that very few albums I’ve every come across have done. He takes the hard songs from Morning Orbit, and makes them better. He takes the soft songs / acoustic songs off of Little Songs, and makes them better. Then, he takes all these songs and manages to make them sound like a cohesive album. This is his best work, without question. If you’re sitting there trying to decide if you’ll like David Usher, this is the album to get. Classic David Usher, yet new and experimental at the same time. Mind you, it lacks the big hits of Morning Orbit, but somehow that only adds to its charm. Each and every song is sitting there waiting to be explored, from the title track Hallucinations to the cover If You Tolerate This Your Childredn Will Be Next. "If you like these, you’ll like David Usher" Songs: ¬ Fearless¬ Time of Our Lives ¬ Surfacing Personal Favorites: ¬ I’m Coming Down¬ In this Light ¬ If You Tolerate This Your Children Will be Next << Previous Article   Articles Main   Next Article >> |
