The Artist

A. Louise Tyler, a.k.a. Anne L. Bull, was born in Vancouver, Canada. Her family moved all over the province of British Columbia during her childhood, where she grew up in the outdoors, often meandering along woodland paths. Her first art teacher was National Geographic magazine, where she found a wealth of information about perspective, shadow and the significance of light. She became adept with watercolour, acrylic, oil, and mixed media.

In the 1990's, A. Louise Tyler moved to the prairies, settling in Winnipeg with her husband and four children. She studied art during the seven years the family spent there, including a master art class and life drawing at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. She sold paintings at galleries and art shows, and became a member of the Manitoba Society of Artists. In 2003, the artist returned to Vancouver where she lives and works in an outlying suburb, enjoying the new vistas of expression that have opened out to her.
