Safety The design of all manufactured objects needs to keep the safety of the users in mind. Often the users of these objects, such as bridge, ignore safety rules designed for their protection. It is therefore important to make sure that your bridge has a margin of safety built into its design to make sure that accidents or ignorant users of your bridge do not cause it to collapse.Bridges cannot be made perfectly safe, however. There is always a chance that something will happen. It does not make any sense for designers to plan a bridge that will require so much material to construct to make it perfectly safe that it would collapse under its own weight! Neither should materials be saved if it will make the bridge dangerous to use. Balancing these two issues is the key.
