We're Green... We believe consumers should be purchasing flowers from florists that cause minimal damage to our environment, and to this respect we try our hardest to bring in locally grown flowers. We attempt to cut back on wasteful and polluting flower miles - many flowers travel 1000's of miles before they are sold at the average store (both florist and corner store). Some of the pleasure of receiving flowers is lost when you think about the environmental consequences. Of course we do bring in some imports, but approx 99%, often all of our weekly orders, are locally grown. This not only means environmentally friendly, but fresher produce. Our flowers are replenished at least twice a week, sometimes more often, and are seasonal.
We do unique, handcrafted, seasonal bouquets. We always strive to give you the best assortment of what is available, so we tend not to have typical florist photo assortments that will be made the same each week. If you ask us for a $50 handtied bouquet in February it will be different to one you ask for in June. What we can assure you of is the most beautiful and freshest combination of flowers in your colour scheme available at that time. So always fresh, almost always local, and always reflecting the season, as they should.
In keeping with looking after the environment, you can choose to have your handtied bouquet delivered without the cello, (yes it does look nice), or better still directly in a vase (add approximately $10-$20 depending on size). For store pick-ups of loose flowers or flat wraps we can wrap in brown paper and raffia if you choose. We send out care instructions with every order to help the customer get the longest life from their flowers.
Costs... a typical, small handtied bouquet starts at $35-$40, a mid size at $50-$60, a large at $75-$100. If you want to add vases $10-$20 depending on size.
Delivery is available to most parts of the Island excluding four wheel drive areas, and costs between $7.50 and $15, depending on location and access.
It is imperative that someone is home to receive the flowers as due to our deer population they would regard flower bouquets a very tasty snack!!! However, being centrally located, we find that most people when called are very happy to pick up their flowers as they are almost always in the Cove area on a daily basis. This saves you delivery costs. However, the choice is yours.
