Muscle Beach Classic

My training partner, Raji, competed in the Muscle Beach Classic bodybuilding competition held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Nov. 2, 02.  He placed second in the heavyweight class against some very tough opponents.  Raji competed completely drug free, in fact he didn't even have protein shakes, creatine, or other supplements.  His diet leading up to the contest consisted mainly of chicken breasts, eggs and rice.

Over 19 weeks he went from 250 lbs. to his competition weight of 204 lbs. without ever wavering from his diet or training.  He even refused a cupcake on his birthday which occured a few weeks into the diet.  He religiously did an hour of cardio per day, usually in two half hour sessions and trained 5-6 days a week using mainly heavy weights and basic exercises.  This enabled Raji to maintain most of his muscle mass as he lost the fat.

Here are some pictures from the competition.

Sorry, the Quicktime and MPEG versions came out too big at over 5mb and the quality sucked.
If any Mac users want the Quicktime version, e-mail me.
