Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! It is a joyful time and one in which I would love to participate be it formal or informal,
on the top of a mountain, at a country club, in your backyard, or at sunrise or sunset, it is your choice.
I am a retired school principal having served as an educator with the Calgary Board of Education for 33 years. Since 1998 I have been a
Provincial Marriage Commissioner. During these most interesting times I have officiated at weddings at lake shores, in National Parks,
backyards, at my home, the Calgary Wedding Pavillion, many Calgary parks, community halls, and even some churches. I have performed
weddings in front of audiences of 4 to 500 and look forward to and enjoy each one.
I like to meet with couples prior to their big day. This affords an opportunity for them to hear a wedding ceremony with the full
understanding that additions or deletions are welcome. Having officiated at more than 1,000 weddings, I tend to rely on a ceremony
that has evolved from input from the many couples I have met. It is perfectly acceptable, however, to make changes to the ceremony, to
include readings by friends or relatives or messages from the heart, or even to write your own ceremony. You don't insult me, you just
give me better material. On those occasions in which it is physically impossible to meet I have made additions and deletions to
ceremonies via email only meeting the couple on the day of the wedding. This is YOUR wedding, my role is to facilitate YOUR needs.
