Gothenburg Sweden
1975

It was in 1975, the day before you recorded live in Stockholm! It
was one of my first concerts I went to after moving to Gothenburg
for studies at the university. I was 20 and had a new camera. Unfortunately
I did not take more pictures than these but I was happy to have
them as a memory. The concert
made great impact on me. Having heard trios like Jimi
Hendrix and Cream on vinyl this
was the first time I saw a rock trio live. But I was
astonished by the energy and
great sound of the band. The balance between good songs
and improvisation made sense
to me and have ever since been important when listening to
rock. Being a (amateur) drummer
I was impressed by your playing, Bill, as you tastefully laid
the ground for the songs but
also showed a lot dynamics and finesse. Although the power
was there you could feel the
freedom and open creativity among the musicians. Something
which is not always the case
today in rock music!
