Consulting Projects:

 

1990-2001: President, Bloom Forecasting, Inc., Tacoma, Washington.

 

Developed ecological quality index model working in conjunction with a set of ecological and engineering specialists.  Using the index, a major chemical company in the Pacific Northwest was able to  determine the extent of ecological restoration of a piece of industrial land and to forecast the level of restoration in the next 20 years.

Environmental and economic research, analysis and forecasts for the chemical industry.  Work included studies in marine toxicology, expert systems, water quality index, forecast of hydrogen peroxide as bioremediation and waste-water treatment agent,  background concentrations of arsenic in oceans worldwide,  critique of EPA arsenic regulations pertaining to seawater, and both financial and technological evaluation of alternative methods of remediation of organic compounds in groundwater.

 

 

 

1980-1990: Principal; Bloom Forecasting; Tacoma, Washington.

 

Statistical analysis and demographic and economic projections for government, school districts, and the communications industry.

 

Developed new techniques for forecasting trends.    Taught mini-courses in business strategy, management information systems, and computer software applications to business, industry and government employees.

 

Delivered talks before American Marketing Association, American Society for Personnel Managers, National Educaiton Association, Rotary Club, Lions Club, etc.

 

1973-1974: Consultant, World Institute, Jerusalem.

 

Applied systems dynamics simulation methods to forecasting social welfare trends.

 

1971-1972: Consultant, Urban Institute, Tel Aviv.

 

Directed projects and conducted forecasts of populations in development towns, number and types of shops required in a new shopping center.
