Application Information
General Criteria for Applicants
The Foundation is primarily interested in, but not restricted to, funding organizations in Manitoba. Grants will be considered for both capital and operating nature. Applicants must establish that there is a need for the project or service to be provided and that their proposal is viable. Grants will be awarded for definite purposes and for projects covering a specific period of time. Organizations must demonstrate a strong and committed board, fiscal responsibility, and effective management.
Current Areas of Interest
The Board may from time to time and for defined periods of time
establish priorities for grant-making that focus on certain areas and aspects of
the criteria outlined. Our current priorities are:
v
services
for women dealing with addictions and/or abuse
v
services
for the physically or mentally challenged
v development of micro-enterprise projects
v projects to protect the environment
Note:
Grants
will not generally be made to or for:
v
annual fund drives
v
other endowment funds
v
reduction of deficits
v
projects already completed
v governments
v political activities
Requirements for Applicants
Applications for grants should include:
v
a
description of the proposed projects, including detailed budget and time lines
v
a
list of your board of directors
v
a
copy of your most recent Annual Report
v
a
copy of your most recent audited Financial Statement
v
a
copy of your current budget
v
your
charitable tax #
Timelines for Applications
Applications
may be submitted in writing at any time during the year; the deadline for
consideration at our annual allocation meeting is December 31st.
