Mandate

The primary role of Neighbourhood Place is to facilitate the development and enhancement of community capacities. Neighbourhood Place is the catalyst for turning ideas into realities. It is the connection between needs and resources and is the facilitator for the evolution of both formal and informal responses.

History

Blackfalds Neighbourhood Place opened their doors to the community on August 01, 2001. In October 2001 we became a registered non-profit society and our official name became Blackfalds Neighbourhood Place Society.

Our first office was located in a small space in the same building as the Post Office on Broadway Avenue. The entrance was around the back of the building and was not very visible to the public. We were in that space until September 2003 and then we moved to the front of the building with Broadway Avenue access. Than again in 2006 we moved in the old town office building located at 5016 Waghorn Street.
