Upcoming Motorcycle Rides
NOTE: You're on your own for 2009. For various reasons, I will not be doing rides this year.
Beginners Rides: At the start of each season I collect a list of new riders who want to work on their riding, discover new roads and find other people to ride with. If you want to be on the list send me an email. Whenever I go for a suitable ride, I email the list for anyone that wants to come along. The meet spot is the ESSO at Bainbridge and Lougheed in Burnaby (east of the Kensington Overpass). Atmosphere is very casual and suitable for both girls and guys as we go at a comfortable pace. By summers end we will have covered most of the good roads around Vancouver. It's been a cool, wet spring but the 2008 season has finally begun! Just send me an email at: BCRider99@hotmail.com
Ladies Only Beginners Riding: There's always been a good mix of male and female riders but over the years I've learned guys and girls tend to learn differently. Also girls usually haven't had as much mechanical exposure so appreciate a bit more mechanical information and help as they learn their bikes. So this group tends to mix riding with basic bike maintenance. I'm not a strict about riding experience in this group as most ladies are respectful of others with less experience so if you want to come with friends who may be past the true beginner stage that is fine. It's all pretty casual anyway and I often show up with my female riding buddies not all of whom are beginners. 2008 season has started so send an email if you're interested.
If you want some ideas for rides check here for a typical year of riding (2001). I skipped my groups rides and not every personal ride was captured (I prefer to ride than write) but perhaps it will spark someone into trying something different.
