Olympic Peninsula

Comments:

The Olympic Peninsula is a nice area.  It's easy to see why Washington vacationers develop a stranglehold on it during the summer.  The ferry to Port Townsend mercifully prevents any thought of this run being a day ride.  Neah Bay is around 750 km round trip as I recall...

However, the ride down to Whidbey Island *is*a pleasant day ride.   Especially if it is combined with the Chuckanut Drive Loop.

The entire trip including sightseeing really needs a long weekend.   But if you can find lodging at night it's well worth it.  Just remember everyone else in the PNW will be doing the same thing...

I circumnavigated the Peninsula one summer but didn't find the southern and eastern portions particularly suited to motorcycle riding so can't recommend it.   Better to retrace your steps along the northern portion which is why I highlight both SR112 and 101 for variety.
