Geompack++ Licensing

Geompack++ is written in standard C++, does not use the STL framework, and consists of thread safe code that can be used for multithread applications. The following subsets of Geompack++ meshing operations are available from Zhou Computing Services Inc. as undocumented or documented source code for inclusion in commercial software products:

  1. 2-D meshing (operations 200-207);
  2. 2-D and surface meshing (operations 200-207, 250-254);
  3. 2-D, surface, and tetrahedral meshing (operations 200-207, 250-254, 300-310);
  4. 2-D, surface, tetrahedral, and hexahedral-dominant meshing (operations 200-207, 250-254, 300-310, 350-354).

Other subsets of Geompack++ meshing operations may also be available. Documented source code is now available, so that extra features and meshing operations can be added by the licensee.

Geompack++ licenses are non-exclusive and optionally royalty-free. Pricing variations for undocumented or documented source code include:

  1. a single royalty-free license fee (which can be split into multiple payments over 6 months), with 6 months of minimal support provided at no charge;
  2. annual installment royalty-free license fees (maximum of 5 installments), with minor updates provided occasionally, where the total license fee is greater than the single fee in first case;
  3. annual royalty-based license fees (no limit on number of years), where the royalty rate (percentage of gross revenue from the sale of products containing Geompack++) and the minimum annual royalty amount are negotiable.

Consulting support is also available for the production of customized code, e.g. special variant of meshing operation or customized interface built on top of the simple interface class. Consulting contracts are charged using a daily compensation rate.

For smaller companies, other licensing options may be available. Geompack++ source code may also be licensed to companies for internal noncommercial use on multiple computers running large meshing problems.
