Computer technologies have assisted in the teaching and learning process. With a fun approach, students may be able to master some basic Chinese words and short sentences in a short period of time. Cantonese is the dialect chosen for this tutorial.


Language is used to express and communicate thoughts and feelings. To learn a language, there are four basic skills: speaking, understanding, reading and writing. In order to help you begin to learn, I have inserted phonetic sounds, images and Chinese characters. Chinese is fun to learn. Enjoy the lesson!

By the end of this tutorial, you will be able to understand and say 10 words and phrases. You should be able to recognize the written characters for these 10 words. I hope by the end of this lesson you will want to learn more Chinese.
