Welcome

Hello! My name is Tina Kerr. I am a mother of one beautiful daughter, and I live in Burnaby, B.C. I am a birth doula. I received my initial training at Douglas College. I am a member of Doulas of North America (DONA), and the Doula Services Association, (DSA). Doula certification with DONA is a work-in-progress. I shall begin my Prenatal Education Certificate Program this fall. I also have training in Massage Therapy. I am fluent in American Sign Language, and have studied as an English- ASL Interpreter. I have also been trained, and worked as a deaf-blind Intervener. I provide doula support in ASL to deaf, hard-of hearing or deaf-blind clients, as well as hearing clients, during labor.

I share most of my beliefs about childbirth and pregnancy with those who feel it is a natural phenomenon/ occurrence. Yet, I have come to understand that every family, woman, pregnancy, and birth is unique, and therefore do not judge anyone for their birth choices. In fact, I prefer to share the information and resources I have so that women and their partners may make their own decisions. As a doula I am there to provide unbiased support and understanding to families regarding the births of their children. I provide doula services unique to meet the needs of each woman and the person accompanying her at birth.
