Okay, so this isn't the real Google Translation Interface, but it is similar to the Frame placed at the top of a translated page, which you would see if you are using a browser without Javascript enabled. In that case you might not need this page and may actually find two versions, with Google's on top. Otherwise, you may see Google's frame at the top of this site's Home Page for a few seconds if you select a language to translate from English (the language selection menu is available only on the Home Page). The Google frame set is not entirely conducive to this site's layout, so the interface has been modified temporarily. The pages of this site that don't render well with the translator will eventually be re-worked until they do.
The Home Page buttons above will take you back to the DNS and ICS Home page, regardless of which language you may be viewing now. Once you are there, you may need to use the "English" link in the languages menu if you want to open the original site in a new window, which (again) may only work with a Javascript enabled browser and while viewing in another language. Without Javascript enabled for your browser, you only need to use the 'View Original Web Page' link in the top frame of the Google interface. The link at the top center of this page reads "English" because it will return you to the original "English" pages in a new window. Use any 'Back' function to return here.
If you use any script blockers or web filtering software, you will most likely experience quite different results and will have to use your favorite back function to reverse back to the English version. In this case new windows may open and can be scrolled, but they may not be resizeable therefore useless to you.
For instance, with IE 6 SP1, the English to Italian translations, for one example, may need a 'keyboard-initiated refresh' after a translated page has loaded. If you don't do this, you might see some incorrect characters within the text while viewing with IE 6 SP1. Simply press and hold down the Control key of your keyboard and simultaneously press the F5 key to perform the 'keyboard-initiated refresh' if you notice anything strange on any of the translated pages (or depress the Ctrl key and select the Refresh button for that browser). This will not repair areas of pages that display bold text where there should be none, nor will it provide adequate text-wrapping on pages that use the <pre> element to display text output, or fix other inherited layout problems, and so on, no matter which browser you use.
With Internet Explorer 6 SP1, triple-click your browser's Back function quickly or use it's drop-down menu to cycle back to the Domain Name System and Internet Connection Sharing - TreeWalk DNS (BIND-PE) entry in the list. You can also use the "English" link included in the language menu on the Home Page of this site. That link is only functional if you are actually using the translator (it should not work if you are already viewing the English version of DNS and ICS with Javascript enabled for the browser). Not all browsers show this behavior.
By using the Google Language Tools page for addresses other than this site's Home Page address, you can essentially toggle it on and off. You may also find more information at Google's automatically translated link at the top of this type of page but can also try the customized print style sheet for this site by accessing your browser's normal print functions. It should print what the translator returns!
The 'new' HTML embedded into the Google Translations will NOT validate as properly written HTML. Please use the English Version of the site if you wish to test the validators with the labels provided at the bottom of site pages. 'This page is valid XHTML 1.1!'
Well, partly for the curious, but mostly for removing the top frame of the interface from this layout! The pages of this site that don't render well with the translator will be re-worked until they do, and then, who knows what will happen next?
