The Wrecking Crew are another of the bands of supervillains who escaped from Hard Rock. After being captured by the renegade Justice Machine, their life-force was used to fuel the Well of Souls in an attempt to bring about the Kali Yaga. Rescued by the combined forces of the Knights of the Coast and The Guardians, they were returned to the confines of their Superprison.

This all changed when MAYHEM™ launched Operation Face-Off and helped organize a second mass breakout from Hard Rock. The Wrecking Crew were amongst those who 'escaped' and were subsequently encountered by the Knights of the Coast partaking in a coordinated assault upon the Pentagon. This attack was foiled, resulting in the recapture of a number of the Wrecking Crew and their mercenary allies.
