BACKGROUND: 
In his former dimension, Hikaru was a former retainer of Sato Naoki, the CEO of major multinational conglomerate Naoko Industries. The company holds no records of his position or even his employment with the company. The company went belly up in 1996 due to the Moscow incident. The rumor was that he was employing Exotics and that caused the company to become blacklisted. Hikaru's abilities were contracted out until 1998 when StarSeed emerged. StarSeed had been traveling the world trying to ease the tensions of the Exotic/Norm conflict. Dispelling the sterotype that Exotics ate babies, suck souls or were out for destroying the world. After the New York tragedy, StarSeed took up hunting down "The New Sons of Humanity" and other such groups that dared to take the life of innocents in the name of genocide.

In the end of April he was pulled from his crusade by a mysterious force. It put him into this world, and may be assumed to have placed Battosai into his world or another world. He is slowing becoming aware of Battosai's past and his world.

In response to the changing national opinion regarding Exotics, StarSeed wrote an impassioned plea to a variety of papers and magazines across the country, a few of which did chose to publish it - in whole or condensed. It also revealed a lot about what the state of exotic affairs was like in his original dimension.

- when the dimensional walls weakened during the incident involving the Crimson Claw, this version of Hikaru Himura was left inhabiting this universe, apparently stranding that known as the Battosai in another dimension. He joined the Knights in place of his alter ego.

- during the mission to Rio des Madrona in an attempt to take down General Mayhem, StarSeed was captured by MAYHEM™. Although subsequently rescued by his teammates, his potent magical talisman remained in the possession of the diabolical Major Fist.

- without this artifact, Hikaru was killed (along with Ariadne) when the Knights stormed a guarded airfield in an attempt to escape from Rio des Madrona in pursuit of Major Fist.
