SPAWN is the mystic version of organizations like MAYHEM™. The organization appears to be arranged in a series of independent cells (such as Nightforce) aligned together only for purposes of self-interest and magic-orientation. Periodically there have been power struggles between Cells to establish new leaders. Likewise, the resources available will vary greatly between Cells.

A few years ago their activities were broken up in Star City (South of Seattle) by members of The Hero Collective.

    TACTICS  :  Like her sister Widowmaker, Arachnophobia is a tough customer. Extremely mobile and difficult to hit, she has at her fingertips a variety of attacks from Martial Arts HtH attacks backed by a surprising strength, to web entangles, to a poisonous NND attack which she uses in darting hit-and-run attacks. A difficult target to hit due to her high DV and propensity to Dive for Cover, she has solid defenses should one accomplish the unlikely feat of striking her. She has a known vulnerability to invisible opponents, and perhaps to Flash attacks.

    TACTICS  :  Brute force and ignorance typify Brimstone's attack style. It depends upon its tremendous strength and high defenses to keep it in the thick of the fight and attacks with a repetitive, tactically unimaginative series of physical HtH attacks. Slow to disengage, Brimstone isn't as invulnerable as it thinks it is (possible vulnerability to water-based attacks / total immunity to heat/flame).

    TYPE     :  Master Villain (Brick)
    GROUP    :  Aligned briefly with Dr. Diablo and Nightforce [SPAWN], though he abandoned Diablo in the latter's apparent moment of triumph and might be presumed to now lead the remaining members of that group.
    TACTICS  :  It is not yet known how Ramirez differs tactically from the former Dark Paladin.

    GROUP    :  Former leader of Nightforce [SPAWN], now presumed to have joined another faction of the larger organization.
    TACTICS  :  Protects self behind powerful spheres of protection whilst hurling jets of Hellfire or summoning forth minor demons/elementals.

    TACTICS  :  Travels though the Earth. Grapples and pummels.

    TACTICS  :  A ruthless beast that will employ killing claw attacks against normal humans, Hyena has a few physical attacks (backed by an enhanced strength) in his arsenal, but little more. Possessed of decent defenses and mobility (super-leap), this creature shows little tactical ingenuity.

    TACTICS  :  We have met Mortis on but one occasion wherein he came in under cover of Shadowstorm's darkness and damn near killed both Sub-Zero and Hazardman (!). We haven't seen much of his technique or arsenal, save for a fearsome death-grip (Body Drain), and the Autofire HKA abilities of his PowerScythe. He does appear to be prone to overcomitting, and only surrendered when faced with overwhelming force.

    NAME     :  SHADOWSTORM
    MORALITY :  Villain
    STATUS   :  Novaro Superprison, Italy
    TYPE     :  Blaster
    GROUP    :  Nightforce [SPAWN]
    TACTICS  :  Although Shadowstorm's tactics are somewhat impulsive and unthinking, he should not be underestimated. Shadowstorm's Darkfire Multipower is capable of a great deal of flexibility and includes - aside from standard energy blasts - an area-effect Darkness envelopment, an Entangle which includes sensory deprivation, and a Darkfire (Cold) NND. If encountered, hit him hard and fast as he tends to overcommit beyond the strength of his defenses. Very vulnerable to light-based Flash attacks.

    TACTICS  :  Like her sister Arachnophobia, Widowmaker is a tough customer. Extremely mobile and with a tendency to Dive for Cover at the slightest hint of an attack, she is very difficult to hit. On the attack, she has the capacity to spot an opponent's weakness, which she uses in conjunction with a variety of Martial Arts attacks in a darting fashion. She is also capable, like her sister, of performing web entangles and a poisonous NND attack. Defensively, she also appears to possess but few stun should her defenses be broached, is vulnerable to invisible opponents, and perhaps to Flash attacks.


    NAME     :  WILLOW-WITCH
    MORALITY :  Villain
    STATUS   :  At Large
    TYPE     :  Psycher / Blaster
    GROUP    :  Nightforce [SPAWN]
    TACTICS  :  Willow-Witch has acted in a support capacity for a number of Nightforce's assaults. Lacking the brute physical force of some of her comrades, she has been satisfied with flying around the outskirts of an engagement, sniping in at likely targets. She has at her disposal a variety of attacks, from faerie-fire entangles, to mental blasts, flashes and an NND. Defensively, she has only mediocre defenses but is quick to flee a combat when the tables turn.
